Cebu Landmasters, Inc. (CLI) is officially crossing the sea to make its highly anticipated debut in the National Capital Region. In a strategic move that signals its transition into a truly national player, the VisMin property leader has expanded its partnership with Japan’s NTT UD Asia Pte. Ltd. (NTTUD) to launch a massive mixed-use project in Pasig City.
Operating under CLI Luzon Ventures Inc., the joint venture received the green light from the Philippine Competition Commission last month. This cleared the way for NTTUD to acquire a 40% voting stake in the subsidiary, fueling CLI’s aggressive P12-billion expansion plan into Luzon.
A Japanese-Inspired Urban Oasis in Pasig
Scheduled for a year-end launch, the Pasig development is set to become a landmark for sustainable urban living. The project will feature:
- Eight Residential Towers: Incorporating Japanese-inspired aesthetics and precision.
- Curated Retail Spaces: Designed to serve the immediate community.
- Eco-Friendly Features: A commitment to sustainable building practices and “thoughtfully curated” amenities.
Strengthening Global Ties
This isn’t the first time these two giants have worked together. The partnership builds on the success of their 2024 collaboration—a P6.5-billion residential project in Cebu IT Park.
“This Luzon project reflects the deep trust between our organizations and our shared commitment to quality, discipline, and long-term value,” shared CLI Chairman and CEO Jose Soberano III.
NTTUD President Kou Ikeda expressed similar enthusiasm, noting the goal is to create developments “closely connected to the lives of local communities” as they take on this new challenge in the Metro.
For the Philippine building industry, CLI’s entry into Luzon is a major storyline to watch. Beyond the Pasig development, CLI has already earmarked funds for residential communities in Laguna, Batangas, and Cavite, as well as another two-tower mixed-use project near the metro.
Since its founding in 2003, CLI has grown from a local startup to a powerhouse with over 132 projects across 18 cities. Their arrival in Luzon doesn’t just mean more sky-rises; it represents a fusion of Visayan execution and Japanese innovation, promising to set a new benchmark for real estate developments in the region.
